Chiropractors are the only professionals trained to locate and correct subluxations. Subluxations are sometimes referred to as "silent killers" because they are often painless. They can be caused by accidents, falls, sports injuries, trauma, stress and even the birth process itself. Symptoms of subluxations may include headache, migraines, pain and stiffness in the neck, back, shoulders, legs and other body areas. Long-standing subluxations can cause spinal degeneration or even disc herniation. Nearly everyone has subluxations at one time or another. Various studies have revealed the effects and benefits of subluxation correction. In addition to pain reduction, patients also experience significant improvements in their overall physical and mental health. Periodic chiropractic checkups should be a part of every family's health routine.
What is a subluxation?
The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, nerve roots, and all the nerves of the body. The brain is protected by the skull and the spinal cord is protected by the 24 moving bones of the spinal column. Pairs of nerve roots exit the spine from between these interlocking bones. When these bones lose their normal position and motion, they can interfere with the spinal cord or nerve roots, causing pain or ill health. Eliminating and preventing these interferences are the primary objectives of chiropractic care.
